Be Thankful blog hop.

I love the holiday season! It is a time for family, friends and togetherness. I have so much to be thankful for. A loving husband who supports and cares for his family more than any man I know, and I am lucky he chose me. He is currently deployed and we cannot wait until he is home. I am also very thankful to my friends and family, they have been such a life support, shoulder to cry on and a great group of people to laugh uncontrollably with.  And of course my three beautiful boys, they are my everything. I feel truly bleesed to have so many great people in my life.
For my project I decided to make a wreath. I thought it would be fun to incorporate something our family says to each other.

I took a 17" straw wreath and covered it with fall colored fabrics. I then added the cute little turkey from Create a Critter and the saying gobble gobble, which is what my family says to each other. It is our little tradition.

                                                       Who wants CANDY!!!

I am giving away the Thanksgiving seasonal cartrige and the Distressed Stripes embossing folder!!

Hi there! I am now a follower. :) We have a tradition of making everyone family at Thanksgiving. We invite anyone who doesn't have a place to go and make them feel like they have always been and always are a part of our family. We do this every year and there is nothing more special than sharing love.

I just became a follower. I love your wreath. God bless you and your family as you are waiting for your husband to return. That is an absolutely beautiful project - and I especially love the sentiment! It is hard to describe our Thanksgiving traditions as my husband works retail - meaning Black Friday has made it a bit difficult for us to make plans with our families and to see everyone on that day! However, this year we're going to try having a Thanksgiving-themed brunch with his family in the morning so that my husband can have some of the "trimmings" before he sleeps the rest of the day - so that might become a Thanksgiving tradition if it works! :) I am now a follower and thank you for the project and giveaway!

Every Thanksgiving, I curl up on the couch and watch the Macy's parade... then we go to my parents' for an early dinner... after that, it's off to my in-law's for a post-hunting dinner. I love spending that time with our families.

Each blog I hop too just makes my heart glow more and more. The creativity, the love the respect for the craft, the thankfulness. What a great project! Our tradition- a Gratitude Tree. It's just a tree made with some branches from the yard and the family writes something they are thankful for and hangs a leaf. Our lives have had a hectic year and we didn't do it last year, but I am pulling it out today.
thanks and many blessings to you!

Happily following! That is such an adorable wreath! The only tradition we really have is to get together with others. It might be my family, it might be hubby's, and one year, it was a close friend of ours when our parents were out of town. I like to be around those I love dearly for Thanksgiving, as one thing I am thankful for is friends and family. :)

Yikes... there the Create a Critter is again. Okay, I am thankful for the family tradition of baking pies together (developed as we grew older to replace the sticking of black olives on our fingers). This tradition helped foster learning about reading recipes, measuring, planning for the number of pieces to be eaten.. oh those math skills we learned plus all the fun of making messes. This carried over from grade school to adulthood for my sisters, brother and several sets of cousins.

I'm so thankful for my family. One of the traditions we have is that all of the "kids" on my husbands side meet at his mother's for Thanksgiving. What an amazing wreath!!! I wish I was creative enough to make one, lol. Our family tradition while we are about to eat our big feast, is to go around the table and say one thing we are thankful for. Then we reread all the comments we said in the past years.

I have been a follower from day 1. My dearest family tradition is when my son, who is a Sgt. in the USMC, is deployed, my daughter-in-law and I talk everyday. This helps both of us feel closer to her husband and my son. We also wear something special every day that he is gone. This time we have a necklace with his name. It may sound crazy, but we both feel that this is our part of keeping him safe. He has been to Iraq twice and is now in route to Afghan for the second time. I thank God for keeping him safe and sending him back home to us. It is very special to have a daughter-in-law that doesn't mind sharing her husband with his mother. She is very special to me and I love you so much Rachel. Your wreath is spectacular and shows the time and effort you put into this project. Thank you.

I love that your family says gobble gobble to each other. Our traditions with Thanksgiving are mostly centered around the food: what we eat and who cooks each thing. We have brought foods in from both sides of the family and some friends along the way. It makes us thing of each one as we make them then enjoy eating the tasty foods!

what a great wreath. Our thanksgivings are kind of sad, we lost 2 people in our family on the weeks of thanksgiving. In order to make it a happier time I have started the day after thanksgiving going to a christmas tree farm and getting garland and we come back home and decorate our front door with grapeleafs and garland berries etc. it makes the holidays and our door so festive. gumby_71463@yahoo.com what great prizes you are offering thanks so much.

I am a follower now, I am very Thankful I found you via the hop!! My favorite Thanksgiving tradition for my family is a simple one, we are a retired Military family and when we retired we moved back to my Home Town, We are obligated to eat Christmas Dinner with my extended family (100+ members of it) so Thanksgiving we do at home, I cook a full blown huge meal, it is a low key leisurely affair and we have a fabulous day hanging out at home and being together and it is just me and my immediate family!

I am thinking your wreath is going to become a cherished family tradition! The one tradition my husband and I have inherited, is making an Applesauce cake for Thanksgiving. We also make three small ones - one each for his brother, his father and ourselves in case their are no leftovers. This is a tradition that started with his great-grandmother, then his grandmother, his mother and now us (I do most of it, but he helps me with the icing that has to be stirred and stirred until it is "just right").
You have a wonderful attitude about your husband being deployed. I am thankful for him and others like him who are keeping our country free.

LOVE your wreath!! Great project!

My family writes down something that they are thankful for each day leading up to Thanksgiving, and we make a chain out of it and use it to decorate at Christmas. It reminds us to be thankful for our family, even when we might not "like" them. :-)

I became a follower as well! Thanks for the chance to win some great blog candy!

A tradition that my family had when I was younger was every Thanksgiving all of us kids would get together and make turkeys out of apples, gumdrop candies, mini marshmallows and toothpicks. It was funny to see what creations the littlest kids would come up with.

Hello -
I am now a follower and I have to say I love this project. It also brought back a lot of memories from my younger years of crafting when Fabric Wreaths were popular and I made a ton of them. I haven't done them in a long time. Thanks for sharing. I am blog hopping with my daughter tonight she is 9 and she loved the turkey. One of our family traditions that I love the most is that we all get together at my parents house and have a sit down dinner together turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn and etc and then all complain afterwords about how we ate to much. Simple tradition but one I love.
