For my project I decided to make a wreath. I thought it would be fun to incorporate something our family says to each other.
I took a 17" straw wreath and covered it with fall colored fabrics. I then added the cute little turkey from Create a Critter and the saying gobble gobble, which is what my family says to each other. It is our little tradition.
Who wants CANDY!!!
I am giving away the Thanksgiving seasonal cartrige and the Distressed Stripes embossing folder!!

Hi there! I am now a follower. :) We have a tradition of making everyone family at Thanksgiving. We invite anyone who doesn't have a place to go and make them feel like they have always been and always are a part of our family. We do this every year and there is nothing more special than sharing love.

our family tradition at Thanksgiving....I start baking the turkey the night before all thru the night. the house smells so good. Then my parents come over. after our lunch the boys pack up and go hunting for 4 days while I start decorating for Christmas
what a cute wreath. Thanks for sharing it.
Our family tradition is to run between two sides and over eat. I would love to create some different traditions however where we get to slow down and enjoy the time and each other.
great project. Happy blog hopping!

Thanks for the chance to follow your blog! I absolutely love that wreath!! Our family tradition is to simply meet at my mom's house and have dinner together. It gets kind of hectic as our children are grown and now there are grandchildren and the family is so much larger but we love it!!

Love your wreath!! I know you posted you covered it with fabric, but I'm a little slow this morning.. how did you cover it?? It is soooo stinkin' cute!! Thanks for sharing! For Thanksgiving our tradition is to go to my parents house and eat with the rest of the family and draw names for Christmas :)
I just became a follower. I love your wreath. God bless you and your family as you are waiting for your husband to return. Our son has been in the Navy for 25 years and we have been there, and done that. Hard to list a tradition for my family as they are all over the country, but I guess it would be calling everyone to wish them a Happy Thanksgiving.

That is an absolutely beautiful project - and I especially love the sentiment! It is hard to describe our Thanksgiving traditions as my husband works retail - meaning Black Friday has made it a bit difficult for us to make plans with our families and to see everyone on that day! However, this year we're going to try having a Thanksgiving-themed brunch with his family in the morning so that my husband can have some of the "trimmings" before he sleeps the rest of the day - so that might become a Thanksgiving tradition if it works! :) I am now a follower and thank you for the project and giveaway!

I am thankful to have found your blog. I am a new follower.
Every Thanksgiving, I curl up on the couch and watch the Macy's parade... then we go to my parents' for an early dinner... after that, it's off to my in-law's for a post-hunting dinner. I love spending that time with our families.
Each blog I hop too just makes my heart glow more and more. The creativity, the love the respect for the craft, the thankfulness. What a great project! Our tradition- a Gratitude Tree. It's just a tree made with some branches from the yard and the family writes something they are thankful for and hangs a leaf. Our lives have had a hectic year and we didn't do it last year, but I am pulling it out today.
thanks and many blessings to you!
Happily following! That is such an adorable wreath! The only tradition we really have is to get together with others. It might be my family, it might be hubby's, and one year, it was a close friend of ours when our parents were out of town. I like to be around those I love dearly for Thanksgiving, as one thing I am thankful for is friends and family. :)

Love this wreath, what a great idea. My family is spread out so our tradition is to connect on the phone every Thanksgiving morning to wish love & happiness for the day. Actually we do this often. Love your blog and I am a follower, suz.p@comcast.net
During the holiday season the ladies get together and make xmas wreaths!!! We have so much fun, though I inevitably burn myself with the hot glue gun every year. Never thought to make a wreath like this one, thanks so much for the inspiration!
A family tradition I grew up with was making a wish on the turkey wishbone. Two kids would hold either "leg" of the wishbone, make a wish, then pull. The one with the largest piece when it broke got the wish granted. millruncrafts@yahoo.com
great wreath ! thanks for the inspiration !

New follower here! Your wreath is so cute. One tradition that my family has is to spend a few minutes at Thanksgiving dinner sharing what we're thankful for. It has to be something thoughtful. We've done this for as long as I can remember.

We don't have many traditions at Thanksgiving (in October in Canada).

I love the gobble! It is sooo appropriate since uur family tradition is for me to sing a song I learned in pre-school called Gobble Gobble Fat Turkey! I am now 40 with kids of my own but we still sing it!! It's a scream!

Hello! I'm a new follower and found you through Pinky! This wreath is amazing! I love it! I hope your husband returns home soon. Our traditions for Thanksgiving are pretty simple- my husband always works that evening, and my extended family is out of state. So we have Thanksgiving lunch instead of dinner so my husband can be with us. Then it's football time! It works for us! xOxo
Yikes... there the Create a Critter is again. Okay, I am thankful for the family tradition of baking pies together (developed as we grew older to replace the sticking of black olives on our fingers). This tradition helped foster learning about reading recipes, measuring, planning for the number of pieces to be eaten.. oh those math skills we learned plus all the fun of making messes. This carried over from grade school to adulthood for my sisters, brother and several sets of cousins.
I love your wreath! Sooo cute! We are pretty simple, we just spend the whole day together being thankful for having each other. Thank you for sharing. lindagk23
OMGoodness....I love your wreath. Are you selling them?
I'm thankful for my wonderful husband, my dear daughter, my country and my freedom thanks to the troops and your husband.

Your wreath is so cute! I'm a follower! I am thankful for my husband! We don't have any traditions for Thanksgiving - it depends if we stay close to home or visit my family. My family lives in Virginia and his family lives here in Ohio.
I'm so thankful for my family. One of the traditions we have is that all of the "kids" on my husbands side meet at his mother's for Thanksgiving. We pass around a wooden cube and say what we are thankful for. We doe this until we've said everything we can think of or until the smell of dinner drives us crazy. So touching yet fun!

We don't have Thanksgiving, but our Christmas tradition is to have someone sitting by the tree handing out gifts one at a time. How annoying as children to have to watch Nan open yet another toiletry set while we waited for our toys!! lol

Love your site and I am a follower. I am thankful for family, friends and all my many blessings. Since my family is usually away at Thanksgiving, I spend a quiet day with my three cats. Well, maybe not quiet.
What an amazing wreath!!! I wish I was creative enough to make one, lol. Our family tradition while we are about to eat our big feast, is to go around the table and say one thing we are thankful for. (One thing makes it easier for the kids to participate.) I write them down as they say it on a strip of paper and put it into a thanksgiving lunchbox tin I made a few years ago. Then we reread all the comments we said in the past years.
I'm a new follower and I really like your wreath.

I have been a follower from day 1. My dearest family tradition is when my son, who is a Sgt. in the USMC, is deployed, my daughter-in-law and I talk everyday. This helps both of us feel closer to her husband and my son. We also wear something special every day that he is gone. This time we have a necklace with his name. It may sound crazy, but we both feel that this is our part of keeping him safe. He has been to Iraq twice and is now in route to Afghan for the second time. I thank God for keeping him safe and sending him back home to us. It is very special to have a daughter-in-law that doesn't mind sharing her husband with his mother. She is very special to me and I love you so much Rachel. Your wreath is spectacular and shows the time and effort you put into this project. Thank you.

I love that your family says gobble gobble to each other. Our traditions with Thanksgiving are mostly centered around the food: what we eat and who cooks each thing. We have brought foods in from both sides of the family and some friends along the way. It makes us thing of each one as we make them then enjoy eating the tasty foods!
Linda
Since my kids have grown and gone with families of their own, I don't get to do the traditions I loved when the kids were little. We never missed a Black Friday sale and always started our Christmas baking the weekend of Thanksgiving. I still make the whole big traditional turkey dinner even for just me and hubs though. I love doing that!

what a great wreath. Our thanksgivings are kind of sad, we lost 2 people in our family on the weeks of thanksgiving. In order to make it a happier time I have started the day after thanksgiving going to a christmas tree farm and getting garland and we come back home and decorate our front door with grapeleafs and garland berries etc. it makes the holidays and our door so festive. gumby_71463@yahoo.com what great prizes you are offering thanks so much.

I am a follower now, I am very Thankful I found you via the hop!! My favorite Thanksgiving tradition for my family is a simple one, we are a retired Military family and when we retired we moved back to my Home Town, We are obligated to eat Christmas Dinner with my extended family (100+ members of it) so Thanksgiving we do at home, I cook a full blown huge meal, it is a low key leisurely affair and we have a fabulous day hanging out at home and being together and it is just me and my immediate family!
I am thinking your wreath is going to become a cherished family tradition! The one tradition my husband and I have inherited, is making an Applesauce cake for Thanksgiving. We also make three small ones - one each for his brother, his father and ourselves in case their are no leftovers. This is a tradition that started with his great-grandmother, then his grandmother, his mother and now us (I do most of it, but he helps me with the icing that has to be stirred and stirred until it is "just right").
You have a wonderful attitude about your husband being deployed. I am thankful for him and others like him who are keeping our country free.

Hi, Angela here, e~mail: arebori0204@gmail.com!
What an adorable blog page let alone project! I love it! I have been trying to get that cartiage so I love the candy hehe! A tradition that my family has is that my Nanny comes up from Florida and makes her amazing Lamb and Ham! I am thankful that she is able to be here again for another year as well! She is 80 but still young at hear!
I love that wreath! I'm grateful for my family and we love to travel to Utah to be with family for Thanksgiving. Jennmom2000@gmail.com
What a gorgeous decoration -- and I love your "gobble gobble" tradition. We have a tradition of waiting until the half-time of football game to serve dessert and the guys serve the women! It's a great tradition, as we love being "served"!
thanks for your great blog -- I'm a follower!!!
Blessings to you and your family this Thanksgiving and thanks for the service your husband is giving to keep our nation free!

I love this wreath. I would probably be rubbing my hand across the cloth constantly. LOL Beautiful! Our tradition is to always have all the sons, daughters, kids, grandkids, cousins, etc go to my hubby's mom's. We spend all day with people coming and going as they can get there. It's tons of fun! :) Janis northrose@slowar.com

A tradition that my family had when I was younger was every Thanksgiving all of us kids would get together and make turkeys out of apples, gumdrop candies, mini marshmallows and toothpicks. It was funny to see what creations the littlest kids would come up with.

Hello -
I am now a follower and I have to say I love this project. It also brought back a lot of memories from my younger years of crafting when Fabric Wreaths were popular and I made a ton of them. I haven't done them in a long time. Thanks for sharing. I am blog hopping with my daughter tonight she is 9 and she loved the turkey. One of our family traditions that I love the most is that we all get together at my parents house and have a sit down dinner together turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn and etc and then all complain afterwords about how we ate to much. Simple tradition but one I love.
